Integrated reports are one aspect in which Philips excels. The company started developing such reports since 2008 and since then they have improved it substantially. The company is deciding to develop a report for 2011. The main working behind the development of such a report depends on investigating issues that require addressing. The information in the report is audited by KPMG which includes the financial as well as the nonfinancial parts. However, an integrated auditing system presents several challenges. The main problem lies in the assessment of the nonfinancial part of the report. The reason is that the management and control of the nonfinancial information, as well as its measurement might have different quality standards as compared to the financial segment of the report. Another challenge is that there are differences between the sustainability division and the finance division which poses problems.
